Each summer, our lovely little town of Carlow comes alive in the most unexpected and delightful way. The Carlow Arts Festival is not just for the young or the hip. It’s for everyone—with open arms and an open mind.

Here at Avlon House B&B Carlow, we’ve had the joy of hosting guests from all walks of life during festival time—some seasoned culture-lovers, others dipping their toes into the arts for the very first time. And the best part? They all leave feeling enriched, inspired, and a little more connected to something bigger.

It’s a five-day celebration of creativity, curiosity, and connection. From live theatre and intimate music performances to visual art, storytelling, spoken word, film, and fun for families, it’s a vibrant mix of talent—local and international.

Whether you’re sitting in a beautiful tent listening to traditional Irish music, watching a joyful street performance with a coffee in hand, or strolling through an art exhibition you didn’t expect to love (but do), the festival might probably exceed all expectations.
