 Verified I felt like being at home. I’ve stayed at Avlon House multiple times, and it is consistently superb in every way—from the warm hospitality and comfortable rooms to the fantastic breakfast and ideal location.  Verified A top quality accommodation at affordable prices. Avlon was in the perfect location to stay for my midweek two night trip to the Wicklow mountains and Kilkenny. The reviews I read were not wrong, this accommodation is of hotel standard, in fact the quality of the rooms and en suite is better than most 4 star hotels I have stayed in. Tom has thought of everything, he is welcoming and very knowledgeable of the area providing guidance and information for places to see. Visited Inistioge (multiple filming location), Borris, Blessington and the lakes, Hollywood (great cafe with EV charger nearby), Russborough house, Glendalough, Tinahelly (Irish Blood series film location) Bunclody, several scenic drives and many other locations, Avlon was central for all my needs. The accommodation is well equipped, comfortable and extremely clean. Everything is of top quality. A good varied breakfast menu is available, bookable at time of reservation or the evening before , again good quality and you won't be left wanting. There is a comfortable guest lounge, guest parking including an EV charger which can be accessed at very fair rates per kWh, easier to use and less expensive than most of the public chargers in the region. You are close to the town, close to the country and close to motorway links, though I prefer the scenic routes, some of which are pretty spectacular. I would definitely be seeking to book Avlon when we next visit the area. All bedrooms are only accessible by stairs. Luxurious accommodation, best prices for the quality you get.

 Verified Perfect place to stay in Carlow My husband and I stayed in Avlon for three nights, it is perfectly positioned for Carlow town and surrounding areas . The house is pristine and the attention to detail is amazing. Tom is a lovely host and I would highly recommend a stay at Avlon .

 Verified Wie zu Hause! Schon beim Betreten des Avlon House B&B und dem herzlichen Empfang von Tom fühlte ich mich wie zu Hause. Ich stamme ursprünglich aus Carlow und bin vor 38 Jahren nach Deutschland gezogen. Das Haus ist mit viel Liebe und Sorgfalt eingerichtet. Ich habe noch nie ein besseres irisches Frühstück gegessen. Wenn Sie Carlow besuchen, kann ich Ihnen dieses luxuriöse B&B wärmstens empfehlen. Der Preis ist für diese Qualität mehr als angemessen. Ich werde definitiv wieder dort übernachten, wenn ich das nächste Mal in Carlow bin.

 Verified Couple of night for R and R Tom was very welcoming on arrival. As usual the whole house was spotless. The room and en suite were gleaming, think en suite has been re done. Breakfast was fresh and delicious. I don't think Tom can do aching else to improve his business.

I took a chance based on other reviews and was impressed beyond even what was promised. So much attention to detail, very quiet at night, rooms very well appointed and immaculate. The breakfast was huge, freshly prepared, with lots of variety of choice, and very tasty. Incredible value for the money. The owner Tom also gave great recommendations for what to see in town, including a fantastic trad session on Thursday night at a pub up the road. I was the only tourist there and it has been going for 40 years.

Our room was very spacious, spotlessly clean, and equipped with everything we could possibly need. Breakfast was delicious, with a great selection of options to choose from. The bed was extremely comfortable and the room was very quiet, so we were able to relax and sleep perfectly after our long days exploring the area. The location is also very convenient if you're planning to visit places such as Kilkenny, Glendalough and the Rock of Cashel.
