Celebrate all things Celtic at the Pan Celtic International 2023

If there’s one thing that the us Celts have in common (irrespective of what habitat we hail from), it’s a love of music, culture and the traditions that surround these most treasured gifts. This year Carlow town plays host to the Pan Celtic International 2023 festival from April 11th – 16th. During this time, Celtic Music fans will descend on our county to celebrate, share and discover their love of Celtic music and song.

Our nearby celts from neighbouring countries including Scotland and Wales, regions rich in Celtic traditions including Brittany, Cornwall and the Isle of Man will attend a multitude of events starting with the official opening on Tuesday, April 11th at the GB Shaw Theatre.

The programme of events will include choral and solo singing competitions, Breton music and dance, demonstrations of traditional instrumental music and dance including the harp, fiddle, and piping. Visitors and families will particularly love the planned parade due to weave its way through the streets of Carlow over the week which will fully represent the breadth of nationalities visiting Carlow during the week.

It is an absolute joy and pleasure to have the festival back in person and in Carlow after a forced hiatus, with the last festival having taken place in 2019.

Avlon House B&B are really proud to host several visitors and participants of this year’s festival. If you would like to stay with us at any stage over the festival, please contact us directly for best price and availability. Or indeed if you want to prebook for 2024, we are always happy to lock in some dates.

Wishing everyone an enjoyable and happy Pan Celtic International Festival 2023.
