Blooming Great News – Carlow Garden Festival – 24th July to 1st August 2021

What a beautiful summer we have been having here at the Avlon House B&B in Carlow. As we slowly and carefully come out of lockdown and adhere to the government guidelines, we have been busy welcoming our guests since last month, and are delighted to experience and be part of the buzz of having our guests back in house. So, what’s next for Carlow this summer?

This weekend, CARLOW GARDEN FESTIVAL kicks off on Saturday, 24th July and ends on Sunday, August 1st 2021. Over the duration of the festival, fifteen gardening gurus from across Ireland will headline the programme. It doesn’t matter what your level of gardening is, novice to expert, you are sure to find a tour, specialist talk, workshop and more to enjoy. Many talks will take place along Carlow’s Garden trail and will have Q&A sessions to participate in.

Well known gardening personality Diarmuid Gavin will headline the festival this year along with gardener Paul Smyth, at a highly anticipated talk at Arboretum Home and Garden Heaven on Saturday July 31st.

Talking about the festival, Chairperson of the Carlow Garden Trail Mr Robert Miller noted The Carlow Garden Trail Committee is delighted to be able to host the garden festival in 2021, albeit over a shorter time period and with strict limits on event numbers. The festival will be operating to strict COVID-19 guidelines to ensure the safety of all attendees to the festival and staff.
